Dexa Scans
There is little value in repeating DXA scans inside 2years as it can take this long to show a change in bone density. There are some times when an early DXA may assist e.g. continuing high dose steroids in the absence of any bone protection or hormone treatments.
Even if a patient has had a fracture since their last DXA scan, a second one before two years will not normally help with clinical management.
