NHS Vale of York CCG routinely commission Functional Electrical Stimulation for drop foot, with the non-implantable device, in line with NICE IPG2781, provided normal arrangements are in place for clinical governance, consent and audit.

The CCG does not routinely commission the wireless or implantable device. Funding will only be considered where there are exceptional clinical circumstances. The clinician needs to submit an application to the CCG’s Individual Funding Request Panel (IFR).
