Patients with coeliac disease invited to gluten free prescribing event in York

The local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting patients with coeliac disease and their carers across the Vale of York to come along to an event following on from the changes made to the CCG’s policy for the prescribing of gluten free products.

A six month review is now underway to understand the impact that the changes have made to the everyday lives of coeliac patients.

Dr Shaun O’Connell, GP lead for prescribing at NHS Vale of York CCG, said: “We want to identify shared priorities for improving services and experience for our local patients.

“This event provides people with an opportunity to meet other patients and members of the CCG to discuss the changes implemented and whether further changes would help patients and the CCG achieve its vision of providing the best health and wellbeing for everyone in our community.”

The event will take place on Tuesday 10 March at West Offices, Station Rise, York YO1 6GA at 4.30pm.

Refreshments will be served so please let us know if you or the person who is attending with you has any specific dietary requirements other than gluten free or any other needs that will enable you to attend.

Capacity is limited for this event so please confirm your attendance by Thursday 5 March 2015 to events.valeofyork@nhs.net or call 01904 555 870.
