Monitor’s investigation of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
As the main commissioners of services provided by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Vale of York and NHS Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Groups will be working closely with both Monitor and the Trust to support this review.
We have a duty to ensure that health services not only meet patient need, but are delivered to the expected quality standards. With the CCGs’ direction, the Trust is making improvements and to ensure a continuous improvement in quality and safety, our improvement plans continue to evolve.
These plans will enable system resilience and improved service response so the most appropriate treatment of patients is available. Quality and safety will always be of paramount importance to any service we commission, and we will do all we can to ensure all local health services meet these expectations.
