Local health commissioners: Help us to shape future proof mental health services
Providing an opportunity to hear about the emerging themes that have been identified through local conversations and to explore stakeholder perspectives of what works well in local mental health services, the next in a series of DISCOVER! events takes place on Thursday 24 July 2014.
Service users, carers and the people that deliver mental health services will be attending the event to hear about the views and emerging themes that have been collected so far through the DISCOVER! process in the Vale of York. This information, along with future discussions with the local community will help commissioners to shape and deliver local mental health services that are fit for the 21st century.
Dr Louise Barker, the CCG’s Clinical Lead for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, said: “We aim to transform mental health services, improve the care and management of people with mental health needs and enhance their physical health too through new models of care.
“Our aim is to commission innovative mental health care that is fit for the future and we want everyone in the community to play a part in helping us to define the best possible model of care for the Vale of York.
“That is why I am personally inviting all members of the local community to be part of this conversation on Thursday 24 July 2014 at 10am at Clements Hall in York.”
