A letter to our stakeholders 09/04/2020
A huge effort is underway with the NHS mobilising to change the way that hospitals and GP practices run, freeing up tens of thousands of beds, bringing in more staff and ventilators, getting protective equipment to where it is needed and ramping up testing. The NHS – locally and nationally – will also have to deliver care in new ways to deal with the pandemic.
We wanted to update you on how we are doing business as a Clinical Commissioning Group as we work in collaboration with our partners to respond to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and support frontline health and care delivery in the Vale of York:
We have closed our offices and almost all staff are working remotely with minimal presence in the York office to coordinate essential functions in line with government safety guidelines.
- We have established a specialist team to coordinate our COVID-19 with our partners.
- We have redeployed some staff as needed to where they can best contribute to our collective COVID-19 response.
- We have focused on IT and are supporting our local primary care community (including GP practices) with laptops which enable video consultations and other kit which will support remote working.
- The CCG Patient Relations Service, general enquiries and Freedom of Information requests are still very important to us but it may take us a bit longer than usual to respond. We are grateful for your understanding with any delay.
Within primary care, we are also keeping a focus on important non COCID-19 related health matters and routine general practice. This includes baby checks, immunisations and some nursing work.
